BRICS: NSA Ajit Doval holds talks with officials from Iran, China, Brazil and Ethiopia

NewDelhi: On the sidelines of the 16th BRICS National Security Adviser’s Meeting, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval today met senior officials from Iran, Ethiopia, Brazil and China in New Delhi. 

The Ministry of External Affairs said that Mr Doval met Iran’s Deputy Secretary for Defence Affairs at the Supreme National Security Council, Ghadir Nezamipour. During the meeting, both sides reviewed the ongoing situation in West Asia. They also discussed cooperation under the BRICS platform and India-Iran bilateral ties. 

The National Security Advisor also held talks with the Director of Analysis at the National Intelligence and Security Service of Ethiopia, Million Lema Tadesse. Both sides explored areas of cooperation to enhance and deepen the India-Ethiopia Strategic Partnership. 

NSA Ajit Doval met Secretary of Multilateral and Political Affairs of Brazil, Carlos Cozendey. The Ministry said that during the meeting both sides welcomed the cooperation between India and Brazil under the BRICS framework and reviewed India-Brazil bilateral relations.  

The National Security Advisor also met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the two sides reviewed recent developments in bilateral relations and noted progress towards gradual normalisation. NSA Ajit Doval underlined that stable, predictable and constructive bilateral relations contribute to building trust and better understanding between the two sides.
